Man Slashed in Chest After Argument on Train Approaching UES Station

A 53-year-old man was slashed in the chest after a dispute with another rider on an uptown subway train last month, and the NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.

According to the police report, the victim was on a northbound 4 train approaching the 86th Street/Lexington Avenue station at around 10:10 p.m. on Friday, September 11, when an unidentified man approached him. The man got into a verbal dispute with the victim and then slashed him in the chest with a sharp object.

The man got off the train at 86th Street and fled on foot, the report says. EMS treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.

The incident falls within the 19th Precinct and Transit District 4. Police have released these images of the suspect:
