The FDNY received a call about a fire at Memorial Sloan Kettering at 530 East 74th Street on Tuesday afternoon at 1:37pm. A total of 20 units and 78 firefighters were sent to the scene of the incident.
Firefighters arrived to find the fire on the building’s sixth floor patio. They were able to successfully contain the fire, preventing it from spreading inside.

Out of an abundance of caution, patients from the fifth, sixth and seventh floors were temporarily evacuated to lower floors.
York Avenue between 72nd and 76th streets was temporarily closed while the fire was being dealt with.

No injuries have been reported, and the fire was deemed under control at 2:27pm.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
