Recent business filings indicate that Oh K-Dog, a Korean street food restaurant with a growing list of locations, will be opening a spot on the Upper East Side. (Thanks to ‘Upper West Sider’ for the tip).
We’ve reached out for confirmation, but online filings indicate that the eatery will be opening at 1099 First Avenue, between 60th and 61st Streets, which was previously home to a Dunkin’ Donuts.
Oh K-Dog’s website states that “unlike a typical hotdog, we specialize in using a stick to deep fry our signature item until it crisps golden brown. It’s the perfect snack filled with your choice of mozzarella cheese, squid-ink, rice cake, potato and more.”

One popular variety is the Cheddar Hot Dog – “made fresh with an all-meat sausage wrapped in cheddar cheese and breaded with our special dough made from Korean rice flour” – which you can top with regular or cinnamon sugar.
Sauces to choose from are ketchup, garlic sauce, Gochu hot sauce, sweet chili, and three kinds of mustard (cheese, honey and regular).

Egg toasts are the other menu item – with avocado, teriyaki and bacon & cheese options.

Oh K-Dog has additional NYC locations down on the Lower East Side and in the West Village, and they can also be found in Arkansas, Georgia and Texas. Their website indicates that tons of new locations are coming soon, including NYC shops in Flushing and Forest Hills in Queens and in St. Mark’s Place.
We’ve reached out to Oh K-Dog and will provide an update once they get back to us. Learn more at www.ohkdog.com.
