A vehicle crashed into a building on the Upper East Side Tuesday morning, sending debris across a stretch of sidewalk near several schools and popular businesses.
The impacted storefront is Ginette NY, a jewelry store at 1260 Madison Avenue (between 90th and 91st streets). The FDNY responded to the scene just before 9:30 a.m. Officials confirmed there were no injuries.
Video from the scene showed the nose of the car embedded in the storefront, adjacent to outdoor dining tables at Noglu. Workers were seen clearing debris from the sidewalk as crews worked to remove the vehicle from the building.

An employee of the jewelry store said she had planned to open late that morning — a decision that may have kept her out of harm’s way when the crash occurred. “I just was thinking, I hope that there was no casualties,” she told CBS New York. “We walk this sidewalk all the time.”
