NYPD officials have issued an alert about an assault which occurred on the Upper East Side this week. Police are hoping someone from the public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individual.
According to the report, a 67-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of 87th and Lexington Avenue on Monday at about 9:37 a.m. when he was approached by an unidentified individual.
The suspect “punched the victim in the face, causing swelling and bruising, and then slammed his cellphone to the ground multiple times,” police say. He then ran south on Lexington Avenue, while the victim sustained a minor injury.
Police describe the suspect “as a male with a dark complexion and black hair [who] was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black sneakers.”
