The NYPD is just now sharing surveillance imagery of a suspect wanted for committing a hate crime assault back in October. While the photo is a bit blurry, police are hoping someone from the general public will be able to help them identify and locate the wanted individual.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 30 at about 3:41 p.m., when 37-year-old Stephen Zeffren was walking down Third Avenue between 66th and 67th streets (the official incident address is 1142 Third Avenue).

At the time and place above, Zeffren was approached by an unknown individual who spat on him, made ant-Semitic statements, and punched him in the face before running north on Third Avenue.
Zeffren suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is still investigating this incident.
