Suspect Breaks Into 10 Businesses, Steals Cash: VIDEO

The NYPD has issued an alert about a commercial burglary pattern occurring between December 1 and January 8, during which ten late-night burglaries took place across six different precincts.

Two of these incidents occurred on the Upper East Side, and each burglary involved the front lock of the business being broken during non-operating hours. Police are hoping someone from the public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individual (it appears that one suspect is wanted for all ten break-ins).

The first UES incident took place on Saturday, December 14 at about 3:22 a.m., when the suspect broke into Serendipity Nails & Spa at 1628 Second Avenue (between 84th and 85th streets) by breaking the front lock. He stole about $300 and fled.

After targeting a restaurant in Williamsburg on December 18, the perpetrator returned to the UES on Monday, December 23, and reportedly broke into Hawa Smoothie & Bubble Tea at 1151 Second Avenue (between 60th and 61st streets) at about 11:30 a.m., again by breaking the front look. According to this police report, he left the shop with about $500 and an undisclosed quantity of electronics.



Police have released surveillance footage from two of the suspect’s break-ins.
