A group of four suspects approached a 14-year-old boy near the mayor’s residence this weekend, pulling a “sharp object” on him in an attempted robbery.
NYPD officials say the incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 in the vicinity of 88th and East End Avenue. The 14-year-old told police that the suspects displayed a weapon and “attempted to remove his property,” but luckily they were unsuccessful, and no one was injured.

The New York Post adds that the four unidentified suspects fled through Carl Schurz Park after the attempted robbery.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
