Just before 9pm on Tuesday, the NYPD responded to a call about an assault at the subway station on 59th and Lexington Avenue.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 39-year-old female who had suffered a slash wound to her forehead. The suspect is believed to be a female in her 50s, and the incident is believed to have taken place on a southbound train.
EMS responded and transported the female victim to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
