Following its soft-opening last week, viral Italian bake shop Angelina Bakery officially opened its Upper East Side outpost on Wednesday morning. This is the bakery’s sixth location.

Located at 1649 Third Avenue (between 92nd and 93rd streets)–the former home of Fetch Bar & Grill–Angelina’s formal Wednesday welcome came with free coffee samples and showed off the location’s expansive seating and offerings.
Besides rich, strong coffee, Angelina’s menu includes an array of sweet and savory items, including croissants, bomboloni (light and fluffy Italian-style donuts), pizza, cakes, gelato, salads, sandwiches and pasta, among other items.

“Angelina Bakery’s latest store opening, the Upper East Side is the ‘Reserve’ version of bakery (think Starbucks Reserve), which will boast a line of new product items, whiskey pairings in collaboration with Great Jones Distillery, as well as fun pop-ups with BonBon candy and many other beloved brands in the city,” Angelina’s website says.
Antonio Park, a food entrepreneur who has had a stake in both Essen and Paris Baguette as a real estate manager, is the chef behind Angelina’s.
“A hidden gem planted in the hustle of Midtown, Baker Antonio ‘Tony’ Park, brings his vision of an Italian bakery to New York City, serving exceptional baked goods transformed from recipes passed down by the matriarch of the family,” Angelina’s website says. “These timeless classics are brought to life in a transparent laboratory for guests to admire in the production process.”
Angelina started getting attention last year as videos of their viral “burn cakes” took off on YouTube and TikTok. These cakes, which some publications credit to a Canadian bakery, feature a top layer of rice paper which can be burned away to reveal a second design underneath.
