Chef Franklin Becker is bringing a new seafood restaurant to the Upper East Side this spring, the New York Post reports. Uptown Trout is expected to open inside the Franklin Hotel at 164 East 87th Street (between Lexington and Third Avenue) in April or May.
The new restaurant, per the Post, will have seating for 72 within its 2,500 square foot interior, with a menu focused on local seafood.
This will be the Franklin Hotel’s first restaurant. Originally built in 1930, the hotel was rebranded as “voco the Franklin New York” by InterContinental Hotels Group in late 2020.
