The Alexander McQueen store at 747 Madison Avenue, at East 65th Street, was reportedly burglarized on Sunday at approximately 1am, the New York Post reports.
The NYPD reported that two individuals broke the storefront’s glass windows before breaking in, at which point they ransacked the store and stole about 30 handbags. Police say these items are worth an approximate collective $70,000.
We’ve reached out to the NYPD for further comment and to see if the suspects are still at large.
An NYPD press representative wrote back and told us that two unknown male suspects had gained entry to the store by smashing the front left window panel, then removed the handbags from the store’s wall display. The pair then fled the location in a black Suburban.
