Man Arrested For Shooting, Killing 20-Year-Old Woman on Upper East SIde

An arrest has been made for the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Azsia Johnson, which took place on Wednesday evening at East 95th Street and Lexington Avenue.

Issac Argro, the 22-year-old ex-boyfriend of Johnson — and father of the 3-month-old child she was with at the time of the incident — has been arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Upper East Side’s 19th Precinct.

Argro could be heard yelling “innocent” when he was booked.

“He knows what he did; he’s connected to it in every way,” Lisa Desort, Johnson’s mother, told Pix 11. “I don’t care what he has to say. When we go through the court proceedings, I’m 1000% positive he will be proven guilty. What he says doesn’t matter to me.”

At a Thursday night vigil for Johnson, her mother shared that she had been a victim of domestic violence. “And I need you to know, that the city right now, and the state, failed my daughter.”

According to a report by CBS News, a 911 call was made this past January when Argro pushed Johnson while she was pregnant.

Argro was apprehended on Friday in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
