Bronx resident Salvador Navarette-Flores was heading north on First Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle a bit after 5pm. He then collided with a parked 2019 Freightliner Box Truck and was brought to New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Danny Harris, the executive director of Transportation Alternatives – “NYC’s leading walking, biking, and public transit advocacy organization” – shared a tweet stating that the Fresh Direct truck which Navarette-Flores had crashed into had returned to the location it had been parked in – possibly illegally – less than 24 hours after the incident.
