It happened at about 7 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays.

Video shared on Citizen shows police responding to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls. It appeared to be an otherwise quiet evening.

According to police dispatch calls, the two suspects were Black males between the ages of 25 and 35, both about 6’1″ and both wearing all black clothing. They were last seen going eastbound on 65th and Madison in a black Mercedes.

No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.

“The only thing I’m slightly surprised by is the brazenness of doing an armed robbery at 7 p.m.,” one nearby resident told East Side Feed of the Madison Avenue robbery. “Hopefully they are caught but I wouldn’t count on any real repercussions.”

A writeup by the New York Post includes images of the shattered glass.
