Two female passengers were killed in a Friday morning auto collision on the northbound FDR Expressway at East 74th Street. The incident occurred just past 4:30am, and police arrived to find a white 2006 Infiniti M35 engulfed in flames towards the shoulder area of the roadway.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male operator of the vehicle lost control of his car and collided into a concrete barrier wall. EMS and FDNY personnel responded to the location, where the fire was extinguished, and the two female passengers were discovered inside the vehicle. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, Daquan Allen of the Bronx, was transported by EMS to NY Presbyterian Hospital-Weil Cornell Medical Center in serious but stable condition. He was then arrested for reckless driving; charges are pending at this time. The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
The two deceased passengers have been identified as 35-year-old Kesha Montez of Yonkers, NY, and 29-year-old Mahogany Robinson of Columbus, Ohio.
