One open, two coming soon.
Warby Parker is opening at 1187 Third Avenue (at 69th Street) on August 17, according to their press representative. The eyeglass retailer has another location at 1209 Lexington Avenue (at 82nd Street). The new location will offer in-store eye exams, and on opening day, “shoppers will receive a special limited edition tote bag with purchase! Chip City will also be offering complimentary treats to shoppers who stop by.”
Here’s one we missed! The Shop America opened on June 28 at 217 East 60th Street (between Second and Third avenues). The shop’s Instagram page describes their “handprinted textiles all the way from India” along with home accessories and apparel for men, women and children. Here’s a video of the new store’s interior, showing its wide variety of colorful items.
Casasalvo, an Italian espresso bar and specialty market which recently opened its first location on the Upper West Side, is expanding with a second location on 73rd and Lexington Avenue. Casasalvo and its owner, Chef Salvo Lo Castro, made the announcement via Instagram last month. The Upper West Side location has gotten very strong reviews since it opened at 473 Amsterdam Avenue (between 82nd and 83rd streets). One of the Casasalvo’s biggest draws is its affordability, with coffees starting at $2.50 (this includes espressos, cappuccinos, iced coffee and more). Pastries range from $2 to $9 and include bombolonis, croissants, cannolis and eclaires. We reached out to Casasolvo’s press team but don’t have info on an opening date quite yet.
