With the assistance of Special Ops, officers from the 19th Precinct came to the aid of a frightened and furry Upper East Sider on Wednesday.
Anything is possum-ble in a day’s work for our officers.
Today, we received a 9-1-1 called for a menacing marsupial on the Upper East Side—turns out he was only frightened & with help from @NYPDSpecialops was safely caught & brought to @NYCACC for care & evaluation. pic.twitter.com/gv3kIWe3zT

The possum (or opossum, they’re both right) was captured outside of Sweetgreen at 1500 Third Avenue, between 84th and 85th Streets. Police tape was wrapped around a cage that the little guy was placed in before being brought to an Animal Care Centers of NYC for evaluation.
We’ve reached out to ACC to see how the possum is doing.
