“Individuals with Down syndrome of all ages from GiGi’s NYC will be strutting their stuff in their favorite fashions and showcasing their talent!” the event website states. The show will take place at St. Jean Baptiste High School Auditorium (173 East 75th Street) on Saturday, March 8. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and the show will begin at 1:30 p.m. (with an after party to follow).

“The fashion show is always filled with happiness, joy, and inspiration, and is always a highlight of the year for the GiGi’s Playhouse NYC community,” a press representative wrote in an email to East Side Feed.

Previously held fashion shows have won impressive media attention, with coverage by NY1, Harper’s Bazaar and more.

Gigi’s also offers programs, lectures, events, and educational and social programming, while serving as an “awareness center dedicated to changing New York’s perception of Down syndrome, so that the abilities and contributions of our community are recognized and embraced by all.”

The larger organization has 61 locations across the U.S. (and two in Mexico).

Images from past year’s shows can be viewed here, and tickets ($35 each) can be purchased here.
