If you’re a fan of Agata & Valentina’s flagship store — which has been providing Italian gourmet foods to Upper East Siders since 1993 — you won’t have to go far to check out its newest endeavor. Right across the street, at 1513 First Avenue (northwest corner of 79th Street), is the brand new Agata & Valentina gluten-free, vegan, and dairy free market, which opened to the public on Friday, April 15.
While gluten-free shops are not new to NYC, the composition of offerings at this market really stand out. Products include a terrific mix of high-end national and locally sourced brands which make it unique; with packaged foods, freshly made pizzas, a bakery, coffee and deli counter, the new shop offers a familiar NYC deli experience while satisfying strict dietary needs.
It can be daunting to merge a gourmet approach and feel to restrictive menu and food offerings, but Agata & Valentina has managed to keep its high standards, ensuring exquisite tasting items at its health-focused new shop.
