Named after artist Ludwig Bemelmans, whose murals line the walls, Bemelmans has been a coveted hot spot for high society types since 1947, and was forced to shut down in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Now the old school, sophisticated piano bar is coming back, and so is the live music it’s known for.

According to Town & Country, Bemelmans has hired Sylvain Delpique, from the recently closed 21 club, as executive chef. The bar will also be launching a new cocktail menu with a couple of new martinis, and for the first time, will be taking reservations (as of April 22).
