BloomBar Café et Fleurs, a café and lifestyle boutique with a cult following in New Jersey and Brooklyn, is opening its first Manhattan location on the Upper East Side later this month.

The shop is coming to 1226 Third Avenue at East 71st Street, with an opening planned for late October, according to a press release from the company. Hours and a grand opening date haven’t been announced yet.

Half café, half boutique, BloomBar pairs a kosher café with a mix of gifts and home decor, clean beauty products and whimsical grab-and-go florals. The company says its menu is fully kosher, organic and clean, and that it’s constantly evolving.

Matcha is a big part of the draw. BloomBar says it started serving matcha four years ago, imports it directly from Japan and uses house-batched plant and oat milks in every latte. It’s also the exclusive café partner for Clean Coffee, and it serves a vegan soft serve made from its own plant-based recipe, along with salads and pastries made fresh.

The husband-and-wife founders, Heleyne and Ronnie Tamir, aren’t new to the neighborhood. According to the release, they owned Cantaloup, a fashion chainlet on the Upper East Side, in the early 2000s. Heleyne then spent 15 years in luxury beauty, and BloomBar’s website notes that she co-founded Surratt Beauty.

BloomBar started during COVID as a flower market in a small New Jersey enclave, which the release describes as Heleyne’s passion project.

“BloomBar is where people come for life’s small moments, like coffee with a friend or an hour to themselves,” Heleyne Tamir said in the release. “We want those moments to happen surrounded by beauty, in a space that feels transporting yet completely at ease.”

The brand’s website lists shops in Allenhurst, Long Branch, Deal and Fair Haven in New Jersey, plus two in Brooklyn on Avenue U and Avenue K. The company says the Upper East Side shop will be its eighth location, counting its vegan soft serve concept Ripe, and a ninth is set to open at Monmouth Square in Eatontown, New Jersey, in spring 2027.
