New ‘Seafood Shack’ to Open Outside Mark Hotel this Month

The Mark Clam Bar

An upscale “seafood shack” will be setting up shop outside the Mark Hotel (25 East 77th Street) later this month. The Mark Clam Bar is an upcoming collaboration between Jean-Georges and Caviar Kaspia, the Parisian restaurant which opened at the 5-star hotel in early 2023.

The new spot will open on April 26 and run through the summer, a press representative tells East Side Feed.

“Savor classics like fresh lobster rolls, oysters, and clams, each crafted with Jean- Georges’ signature style — and if you’re in the mood, top it all off with a taste of Caviar Kaspia’s world-renowned caviar for a culinary experience that brings summer to your table,” a press release reads.

“…the coming streetside eatery parked outside the hotel will feature selections of the sea at prices only Upper East Siders can understand,” wrote Time Out New York, which first reported on the opening.

Regarding that, some standout prices include $40 for a lobster roll, a $38 calamari plate, and wines starting at $22 per glass for a rosé from Provence, France.

The Lobster Roll with cherry tomatoes, tarragon and sriracha mayonnaise ($40)

Crispy Calamari, Lemon Dip ($38)

Tuna Tartare with avocado, spicy radish and ginger marinade ($41)

Additional items will include Alaskan King Crab arancini served with truffle aioli and caviar ($32); seafood tacos filled with salmon, tuna, and halibut tartare ($36); and Peekytoe crab cake with grapefruit and ginger ($42), among other dishes.

Beers on tap ($16) will include Montauk Summer Ale, Montauk Watermelon Ale and Devil’s Path IPA. Cocktails will start at $24 for a bloody Mary and $45 for their Bloody Mary Royal with Bojoule Oyster and Caviar. They’ll also have a $27 Aperol spritz and ginger margarita.

The Mark Clam Bar will be open for lunch and dinner daily from 12 – 10 p.m. Reservations can be made here.
