Shoga Sushi & Oyster Bar will be closing its doors at 1698 Second Ave (88th Street) on Tuesday, May 31.
A restaurant regular informed us after learning the news when he picked up his takeout order.
“Familiar story — landlord wanted to double their rent,” the reader told us. “So now some good folks will be out of jobs while another storefront remains shuttered indefinitely.” A staff member at the restaurant confirmed the closure, telling East Side Feed the restaurant’s lease is up and the owner has decided to retire after 12 years.
