The sign outside Le Veau d’Or (129 East 60th Street) has been stolen. “The original brass veau d’or plaque was stolen today in broad daylight,” the restaurant shared on its Instagram account, along with a surveillance video. “Any help or info that leads to its return is appreciated, please feel free to share or repost.” The French bistro first opened in 1937 and following a four-year hiatus, was revived this summer by chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr. A police report has been filed but no suspects have been identified, reports Eater.

Casa Tua recently made its NYC debut at the reimagined Surrey Hotel at 20 East 76th Street (at the space formerly home to Café Boulud). The restaurant originally opened in Miami in 2001, quickly becoming a popular celebrity hangout before expanding to Aspen and Paris. The Upper East Side iteration of Casa Tua–”where every meal celebrates the simple pleasures of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine,” they say–has gotten quite a bit of attention since opening in late October, especially from social media influencers. The consensus appears to be positive, with multiple folks saying it’s just as good as the Miami location. Their reservation page says the dress code is “smart and elegant,” adding that “While jackets are not required for men, they are encouraged.” You can learn more here.
