
Zaxbys, the Southern chicken chain known for its hand-breaded Chicken Fingerz and a lineup of 12 signature sauces, has made its Manhattan debut on the Upper East Side.

The new restaurant opened on Wednesday, September 30, at 1267 First Avenue, between 68th and 69th streets. It’s the chain’s second New York City location and its first in Manhattan, according to a media advisory from the company. (They’ve also got a location in the Bronx.)Zaxbys will hold an official ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 8 at 10 a.m., with remarks from CEO Bernard Acoca and Norman Yu, the franchisee who owns and operates the location. The celebration is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and guests can sample free chicken and sauces while supplies last.
The first 100 guests 16 and older who buy a meal in-store that day will get a swag bag with a Zaxbys hat, key chain and sticker, plus a “Deck of Dealz” that the company bills as free chicken for a year. The deck’s offers include a free Big Zax Snak Meal, a free Zaxbys Signature Sandwich and five free boneless wings, among others. It’s limited to one per household.
Beyond its chicken fingers and sauces, the menu includes wings and a line of salads the company calls Zalads.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Atlanta, Zaxbys has more than 1,000 locations across 24 states. QSR Magazine named it Transformational Brand of the Year in 2025.
