On Tuesday at approximately 2:15pm, a 50-year-old male was fatally struck by a southbound 4 train at 86th and Lexington Avenue. It is unclear why the man was in the tunnel, but EMS pronounced him dead upon arrival, the NYPD tells us.
“4 5 6 trains are running with delays in both directions after someone was struck by a train at 86 St,” the MTA advised shortly after the incident.
This is the second person who’s been struck by a train at the 86th Street station this month.
Is this a typical Holiday increase in suicides? I had a RN friend in the ER who said it was common around this time of year…?
