On Wednesday night, a 45 year old woman noticed a large group of teenagers as she walked past the Metropolitan Museum of Art and into Central Park.
Two of the teens – 14 and 15 year old boys – approached the woman on the Great Lawn near East 84th Street and demanded cash while displaying a kitchen knife, NYPD sources told the New York Post.
When she told the teens that she didn’t have any money, offering her credit cards instead, they refused, demanded her phone and told her to run.
The police were luckily called, and responding officers chased down the teens before taking them into custody.
Police Commissioner Dermot Shea shared video footage from the officer’s body cameras.
Last night, after a woman was robbed at knifepoint in @CentralParkNYC, officers quickly found & chased down the teen offenders. The suspects & the knife they used were all taken into custody.

Hopefully the revolving door our courts and DA put in place does not result in them being out and committing more crimes.
