Central Park Homecoming Concert Lineup Announced

Music producer Clive Davis joined Mayor de Blasio on Tuesday to announce the full line-up of performers scheduled to hit the stage at NYC’s ‘homecoming concert’ taking place in Central Park on August 21.

The event, first announced in early June, will take place on the Great Lawn and is expected to attract 60,000 live attendees and a worldwide television audience. The headliners – Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Jennifer Hudson – were announced shortly thereafter.

“If you’ve ever heard the word ‘blockbuster’ – and ‘blockbuster lineup’ before – you’re going to hear, now, about an amazing lineup – and it’s only happening because of Clive Davis,” the mayor said. “Clive is a proud son of Brooklyn, he is a New Yorker who loves New York City, he is a music industry legend.”

Davis expressed the honor it was to be asked to put together the homecoming concert, which he “a once in a lifetime event” which will include “some of the most iconic artists in the history of music, modern music.” (Though it will also include some non-musical performers, as you’ll see in the list below).

He then announced the current lineup for lineup for “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert.”

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, August 2 at 10am, and will only be available to those who can show proof of vaccination. The mayor said 80% of the tickets will be free.

On August 21, the gates will open at 3pm and the concert will begin at 5pm The event will be aired internationally on CNN
