After a year off due to the pandemic in 2020, Global Citizen is back and bigger than ever. The annual music festival that focuses on uniting the world to defend the planet and defeat poverty will continue on Central Park’s Great Lawn on September 25; and for the first time ever, is expanding beyond the city with events planned across 6 continents, for a truly global, 24-hour affair.
Global Citizen Live 2021 will feature shows in Lagos, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Rio, Seoul and Sydney. Each city will feature its own specially curated lineup of artists, celebrities and world leaders, with the events broadcast live across major TV networks that include ABC, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, TIME, Twitter and more.
The NYC lineup performing on the Great Lawn this year includes British rock band Coldplay, who’ve sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and 2020 Grammy sensation, Billie Eilish, who swept the ‘The Big 4,’ winning Best New Artist, Album, Record and Song of the Year honors. Eilish is the first woman to achieve such a feat and no sophomore slump is in sight with her brand-new album, “Happier Than Ever,” delivering once again. Giddy up!
