Dessert lovers on the Upper East Side have a new reason to celebrate with the opening of Crepes Haven.
Located at 141 East 96th Street (between Lexington and Park avenues), an employee told East Side Feed that the crepe shop opened “about two weeks ago.” The space was previously occupied by Lex Shoppe, a smoke shop.
“At Crepes Haven we offer a variety of crepes, waffles, mini pancakes and crazy milkshakes,” the restaurant wrote on its Instagram page over the weekend.

Crepes and mini pancakes with Nutella start at $8.99. Flavors include Oreo Lovers ($10.99), Fruity Pebbles ($10.99) and Pistachio Lover ($12.99). Waffles also start at $8.99, and flavors include the 96 House Special, which features strawberry, banana, lotus and biscotti ($11.99), and Kinder, a waffle with “two kinds of Kinder Bueno” for $11.99.
As for the “crazy shakes,” they start at $9.99 and feature a variety of over-the-top and sugar-filled concoctions. The New Yorker Shake ($9.99), for instance, contains strawberry cheesecake and “ice cream bites,” while the Dubai Shake ($12.99) contains a variation of the extremely popular pistachio-infused Dubai Chocolate flavor that is sweeping the nation.
Reviews are positive so far, with one early customer praising the shop’s Oreo milkshake and Nutella waffle.
Crepes Haven is the latest spot on the Upper East Side to offer the French dessert; French sandwich spot Le Sandwicherie opened up in the summer of 2023 at 217 East 85th Street (between Second and Third avenues). While Le Sandwicherie primarily offers French baguette sandwiches and espresso creations, it also offers similar Nutella-infused crepes.
As for newer sweet shops, the popular Brooklyn-based doughnut shop Dough Doughnuts opened a bit downtown at 1119 Lexington Avenue (between 77th and 78th streets) this past January.
