Popular New York chain Dough Doughnuts is opening its newest location at 1119 Lexington Avenue (between 77th and 78th streets)–right between Venchi and Angelina Paris.
First opening in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn in 2010, the business quickly exploded in popularity due its gargantuan doughnuts and unique and delicious offerings. It opened its first Manhattan location in 2015 in the Flatiron neighborhood, and has since opened up other outposts in Astoria and Rockefeller Center, as well as a space at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg, a weekly open-air food market. It also has two kiosks, at Grand Central Station and at Times Square’s City Kitchen.

Dough has both permanent and seasonal menus. A couple of choices which are always available include its classic glazed and Nutella, as well as more exotic options like hibiscus and passion fruit.
The seasonal menu, meanwhile, has an “anything goes” approach: items such as an apricot doughnutaschen, a fusion of a doughnut and the classic Jewish cookie served during Purim, and a margarita doughnut, can be found on this menu.
Dough also offers mini and vegan versions of its permanent and seasonal flavors.
“Dough’s doughnuts are made in small batches throughout the day to ensure that they are always fresh for you to enjoy,” Dough’s website states. “When you visit the shops, you can see how the doughnuts are made. The transparency of the process is based on the philosophy that buying a doughnut is an experience, not just a product.”
Dough made national headlines two summers ago when it released a mustard-flavored doughnut for National Mustard Day on August 6, 2022. Teaming up with French’s, the limited edition treat had yellow mustard icing with crumb cake pieces on top.
In addition to doughnuts, the shop sells Bonjourno Artisanal Coffee at all of its locations.
The Upper East Side has seen its fair share of doughnut-related openings in the past few months: Holey Cream (home to the doughnut ice cream sandwich), Daily Provisions (famous for its crullers), and Modern Bread and Bagel (they also have doughnuts). Angelina Bakery, famous for its bomboloni inspired by Korean donuts, is also expected to open soon.
East Side Feed has reached out to Dough Doughnuts for more information about its forthcoming UES location.
Prices? Who can charge the most for sugar, flour and oil?
Please know that DOUGH is a sad copy of what it used to be and founder Fany Gerson was the brilliant creator. She has a created a new brand called FAN FAN-located in the original Dough location. FAN FAN is the real deal!
