Over 5,000 runners participated in Saturday’s LGBT Pride Run 6K in Central Park, hosted by New York Road Runners and Front Runners New York.

This was the 40th year of the 6K run; the first took place in 1982 and today it “continues to celebrate LGBTQIA+ pride and the ongoing movement toward equality, diversity, and inclusiveness,” writes New York Road Runners (NYRR).

If you couldn’t make it this weekend, a virtual 5K run can be completed at any time and location until June 30.

Front Runners New York “(FRNY) is a running club for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) and those who are allies. Identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer is not a requirement to run with FRNY.”
