New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has signed a contract to purchase a luxurious penthouse on the Upper East Side at 200 East 75th Street, between Second and Third avenues.

Sources familiar with the deal told the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news, that Lindor paid roughly $20 million for the pad.
The apartment was purchased from the EJS Group’s building, and the original asking price was somewhere in the neighborhood of $23 million, according to the report. It is 5,000 square feet, has six bedrooms, several terraces and 11-foot ceilings. Although the Journal didn’t mention the exact unit number, The Real Deal says that the listing matches a description for PH5.
Additionally, the Real Deal reported that sales of the condominiums began in March, and that half of the 36 units for sale have found buyers thus far. Construction of the 18-story building is expected to be completed sometime next year.

“We decided to lean into New York City at a time when many others were leaning out,” EJS’ founder Ted Segal told the Journal. “It’s very gratifying to see how the market’s responding to the vision we had for the project.”
EJS acquired the land for the new development in 2021, according to the Real Deal, for $32 million; the developer was reportedly funding the early stages of construction out of its own pocket until it secured $112 million in financing from Bank OZK last year, Multi Housing News reported.
Lindor signed to the Mets in 2021, after more playing for more than five years with the Cleveland Guardians (previously known as the Cleveland Indians). When he signed a 10-year contract worth $341 million, it made him the highest-paid player in the team’s history; however, that honor now belongs to Juan Soto following his gargantuan 15-year, $765 million contract.
