DWMR’s UWS studio opened in 2020
In 2012, “Miss Rachel” Cantor, a lifelong dancer, singer, and teaching artist, realized her dream of introducing young children to dance and music, starting with 40 students in the studio’s first year-end recital. Now in its tenth year, Dance with Miss Rachel has grown to include a team of over 30 professional teaching artists, with studios in Tribeca and the Upper West Side, as well as summer satellite offerings in the Hamptons.
This September, Dance with Miss Rachel will open its third NYC studio, this time on the Upper East Side at 266 East 78th Street between 2nd & 3rd avenues. Programs include Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre for ages 18 months and up; Baby Bop! Music for babies as young as 10 weeks; as well as piano & voice lessons, birthday parties, and special events.
“We are so honored to have the opportunity to celebrate our tenth anniversary by expanding our studio family to the UES,” said founder and owner Rachel Cantor. “It’s such a special community and a dream come true.”
Fall classes—which are taught by professional instructors through song (most classes include live piano music)—are now enrolling and run September 12, 2022 – January 28, 2023, culminating in a year-end recital (a complete production with costumes, sound, and lighting). East Side Feed readers can save 10% when they enroll before July 31 with code ESFJuly10.

Dance with Miss Rachel has become the premier children’s dance and music studio in Tribeca and the UWS (classes are known to fill up within an hour…), and families return year after year.
“Anyone who takes their child anywhere else just hasn’t done their research.” – Jessica, mother of S, 7, and E, 4.
