“Astute but unconventional attorney Elsbeth Tascioni [played by Carrie Preston] utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD,” reads the IMDB description of the comedy-drama series.

Since first airing, “Elsbeth” has won 4 awards and received 12 nominations, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 91%–though some critics have labeled it tedious and predictable.
