SAUER, a Brazilian jewelry brand, recently opened at 800 Madison Avenue (between 67th and 68th streets), the company’s first U.S. location. The two-floor space includes a salon for private appointments that “will host an exhibition of rare gems and minerals from the SAUER collection that for decades lived in the family museum in Rio de Janeiro, the birthplace of the brand founded in 1941,” according to a press release. Price ranges posted on the company’s website include earrings from $800 to $37,000; bracelets from $2,550 to $39,600; and necklaces from $1,500 to $39,600. (These are the highest numbers shown for each category, but there are ‘price upon request’-labeled items which presumably exceed these figures.)

The Memor Museum had its grand opening late last month at 1130 Madison Avenue (at the corner of 84th Street). “Bringing Asian culture to life through exhibits, relics, & community events,” Memor has additional locations in Beijing and Chongqing, China. “The grand opening event highlighted the museum’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage while embracing modern innovation, as it unveiled its inaugural exhibition, Sanxingdui Encounter: A 12k Micro-viewing of National Treasures , Global Tour,” reads a press release. Per Memor’s website, the museum is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here are some reviews from folks who have visited.

According to @TradedNY, GelMe Inc has leased a space at 426 East 73rd Street (between First and York avenues). The business offers gel manicures which “not only gives long-lasting protection from daily wear but also strengthens your nails using a special gel base,” according to their Yelp page. They appear to have another location on West 32nd Street.
We’re a bit late on this one, but Baudoin and Lange opened at 944 Madison Avenue (between 74th and 75th streets) near the end of October. The London-based shoe retailer offers men’s and women’s loafers and boots, and this appears to be their first outlet in the states. The company’s products are very expensive. For example, men’s loafers range from $480 to $6,400, while women’s boots start at $620 and go up to $795, according to the website.
