Solidcore, a high-intensity, low-impact strength-training brand, has signed a lease for a new Upper East Side studio at 1695 Second Avenue, at East 88th Street, the New York Post reports. The studio is going into The Langdon, a new luxury apartment tower along the Q line developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners. Solidcore’s 50-minute, full-body classes are built around a Pilates-inspired reformer and slow, controlled movements that work muscles to fatigue, set to dimmed lights and upbeat music. It’ll be the brand’s second location on the Upper East Side, joining its existing studio at 166 East 67th Street.

Jonathan Adler, the home goods and design brand, is opening a new Upper East Side store on Friday at 1019 Lexington Avenue (between 73rd and 74th streets). Founded in 1993 by potter and designer Jonathan Adler, the brand is known for its pottery, candles, tabletop, and textiles. The new store leans into gifting, and the brand says it will feature a limited run of archival pieces signed by Adler and a scent bar carrying its full candle assortment.Ember, which bills itself as a heated pilates and sculpt studio, is opening at 244 East 86th Street (between Second and Third avenues), h/t @uptown_girls_ues. Its website is just a placeholder for now, but the format it’s named for is a familiar one in boutique fitness: heated pilates takes a low-impact pilates workout and moves it into a room warmed well above room temperature, with the heat meant to loosen up muscles and boost the sweat, while “sculpt” classes generally layer in light weights and strength or toning work for extra burn. A firm opening date, class schedule, and pricing aren’t posted yet.
A new deli, The Daily Spread 88, opened about a week ago at 1670 York Avenue (at East 88th Street), the shop announced in an Instagram post. “Your new neighborhood spot for fresh bagels, delicious sandwiches, hot coffee, snacks & so much more!”

We recently reported that T Shirt Shoppe had leased a space at 1226 Third Avenue at East 71st Street. According to @TradedNY, there are two other tenants moving into the building: Lori Kassin Fine Jewels and BloomBar.“Best known for her exquisite fine jewelry gemstone pieces, designer and business owner Lori Kassin began curating her collection in 2012 at the young age of 17,” reads the jeweler’s website. “Today the Lori Kassin brand is well on its way to a strong national presence.”
BloomBar is a Brooklyn-based flower business with an onsite cafe specializing in matcha drinks and bakery items. They’ve got quite a bit going on, with both the BloomBar Café et Fleurs and BloomBar Flower Market (both of which are described in this Instagram post).
