La Maison School of Music will be opening in the fall at 170 East 80th Street (between Third and Lexington Avenues), which was most recently home to the Waterfall Gallery. La Maison was founded by pianist and music educator Héloïse Pieaud. “At La Maison, we adopt an approach inspired by the Montessori philosophy, putting the student at the heart of his or her musical learning,” the school’s website states. “We create an environment where freely exploring music becomes a personal adventure. The idea? To let students follow their curiosity, guiding them without rushing them.”

B&B Bagels has opened its second local outpost at 1201 Second Avenue (at 63rd Street). The popular bagel spot opened its first location in 2022 at 1370 First Avenue (corner of 73rd Street), and has since become a popular destination for its plump, fresh bagels and variety of cream cheese flavors. The space on 63rd Street was previously occupied by Veritable, which closed last year after an eight-year run.

Karine Kazarian Salon has leased a space at 1298 Madison Avenue (between 92nd and 93rd streets), according to @TradedNY. Kazarian’s eponymous skincare brand offers products from Biologique Recherche, a French company, and her shop is located on West 8th Street. “Here, Kariné Kazarian is dedicated to unlocking the biology of your skin, boasting a remarkable 25 years of experience,” the website states. “Her treatments have led to a devoted following among models and skin enthusiasts alike, who rush to her new urban oasis.” The salon also offers a range of hair and skin treatments. A representative from the business tells East Side Feed they’re planning to open their Upper East Side location in June.

Signage is up at 301 East 90th Street (between First and Second avenues) for a new eatery called Krispy Chickpea, @UESthings has shared. While we don’t have any information about the business itself, the space–located next door to a dry cleaner just off the corner of Second Avenue–was previously home to Be Yours Spa, and according to this listing description, measures a cozy 250 square feet.
